The Obligor Immediately made the Payment of Outstanding Payment of Fine of NT$220K when the Gold Necklaces were about to be Seized

The Freeway Bureau, MOTC applied to Kaohsiung Branch, Administrative Enforcement Agency (AEA), Ministry of Justice (AEA Kaohsiung) for the enforcement of an outstanding fine of NT$220 thousands payable by Mr. Liu due to outstanding parking fees, ETC tolls, and vehicle license tax.

After accepting the case, AEA Kaohsiung discovered that the obligor had no property available for enforcement. The staff hence went to the registered residence of Mr. Liu and had Liu’s mother to inform the Obligor to attend at AEA Kaohsiung for payment of the outstanding fine. When Mr. Liu visited AEA Kaohsiung, he falsely told the staff in-charge who repeatedly persuaded him to apply for payment by installment that he was penniless and had no intention to make any payment. Later, the staff noticed that Mr. Liu was wearing a valuable gold necklace and informed him that the gold necklace could also be a movable property which could be subject to seizure. Mr. Liu immediately promised that he would visit AEA Kaohsiung again within a few days and fully settled the payment of the outstanding fine of NT$220 thousands two days later.

AEA Kaohsiung urges that everyone shall abide by the traffic rules to protect the safety of themselves and all others, pay ETC tolls and parking fees on time, and do not risk themselves to challenge public power. For any obligors who with financial difficulties may apply for payment by installment to AEA Kaohsiung by presenting supporting documents. Any refusal to make the payment will be subject to mandatory enforcement by AEA Kaohsiung.
