Charity of AEA Kaohsiung
Made a Heartwarming Mid-Autumn Season

An old lady who was nearly at her 80s received the notice of payment from the AEA Kaohsiung. She then took three lines of buses from Dashu District where she lived to the AEA Kaohsiung for consultation. During the conversation with the old lady, the staff learned that she was illiterate, jobless, with financial difficulties, and lived alone for a very long time in a small side wing of an old Sanheyuan. The old lady was imposed of a fine of violation of traffic rules, and the staff explained that AEA Kaohsiung would grant appropriate grace period to assist the obligors who suffer financial difficulties. However, the old lady insisted that she must pay what she owed to the government and although she could not fully pay the fine at once, she would work hard to find a way to pay by installments. To do this, the illiterate old lady even asked someone to help write down the date on which she shall make payment to AEA Kaohsiung each month on the calendar paper to remind herself. When the Head of AEA Kaohsiung Yung Chih Chang, learned about the situation of that old lady, he instructed the relevant staff to handle the case properly with supporting the disadvantaged and ensure that the old lady could make the payment by installment without presenting at AEA Kaohsiung, as well as referring her to the adequate social welfare service ASAP. With the coming of the Mid-Autumn Festival, Mr. Chang also visited the old lady at her place with the enforcement staff and colleagues of the charity club to provide the daily-life supplies and relief allowance to let the old lady know that she was not alone during the season of the Mid-Autumn Festival when people would gather and share help and blessings with each other.

Moreover, as the Mid-Autumn Festival was around the corner, in order to help the social welfare organizations greatly affected by the epidemic, AEA Kaohsiung not only provided help by purchasing the festival goods produced by the local service groups of physically and mentally challenged people; but also the purchased the Mid-Autumn Festival gift boxes produced by the physically and mentally challenged people as the substantial encouragement which would grant them with tremendous sense of achievement and increase the income of relevant social welfare organizations.
